SISLS

Score Indication Sign Language System

SISLS has been developed in 2010 for easily indicating to team mates, often across the ground, what the current batsmen's scores are. SISLS is a simple semaphor system and is best explained with an example.

Example

Batsman X and batsman Y are batting together and entered batted in the order whereby batsman X is above batsman Y in the order. Batsman X is on 24 runs and Batsman Y is on 12. The player deploying the SISLS (having obtained the scores from the scorebox) must stand upright with both arms to the side. Batsman X (being the first of the two at the crease) has his score indicated as follows;

One hand is raised and dropped twice (this indicates the 2 tens of the score), the other hand is then raised and dropped 4 times (this indicates the 4 ones). The same process may then be repeated for the other batsman, in this example 1 raise and drop followed by 2 raises and drops of the other hand.
